Atopica® is an immunomodulatory medication used to treat atopic dermatitis in dogs. It comes in oral capsule form with dosages of 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg. The active ingredient is Cyclosporine A. Atopica® helps control the overactive immune response, reducing itching, inflammation, and improving skin condition without the need for corticosteroids. Clinical improvement is typically observed within 4 weeks of treatment.

Indications for Use:

Atopic dermatitis in dogs over 6 months of age and weighing more than 1.8 kg.
Contraindications:

Presence of malignant tumors

Pregnancy and lactation

Hypersensitivity to cyclosporine

Use with caution in cases of kidney disease and diabetes
Method of Administration:
The recommended dose is 5 mg/kg of body weight once daily. After clinical improvement, the dose may be gradually reduced to the minimum effective level, administering the capsules every other day or less frequently. Capsules should be given either at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after feeding, without chewing.
Side Effects:

Rarely: tremors, seizures, increased thirst, and frequent urination
Storage Conditions:
Store at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C in the original packaging, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
