Ipakitine is a specialized medication designed to support and treat dogs and cats with chronic kidney disease.
One important aspect of managing chronic kidney disease is controlling phosphate intake, as excess phosphates can worsen kidney condition.
Ipakitine binds phosphates in food and prevents their absorption by the body. This helps to lower phosphate levels in the blood and improve overall phosphate balance, which positively affects kidney function and may extend your pet's life.
The medication can easily be mixed with wet food, as the powder has a neutral taste, making it convenient to add to the diet even for finicky animals.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND DOSAGE
Ipakitine is administered to the animal twice daily during morning and evening feeding, mixing the measured amount of powder with wet food (canned or natural diet). The dosage per serving is 1 measuring spoon (1 g of powder) per 5 kg of body weight. If the animal is only receiving dry food, it is recommended to soak part of the food in warm water until it swells, mix it with Ipakitine, and then add it to the main portion of the food.
