Palladia — Anti-Tumor Medication for Dogs
Active ingredient: Toceranib phosphate
Indication:
Palladia is used to treat cutaneous mast cell tumors in dogs — one of the most common types of skin tumors. It may also be prescribed for other malignant tumors such as sarcomas and carcinomas.
Mechanism of action:
A tyrosine kinase inhibitor that blocks tumor cell growth and the development of blood vessels that supply the tumor.

Dosage and administration:

Recommended dose: 3.25 mg/kg body weight

Frequency: once every other day

Tablets must be given whole, not chewed or split

Administer with or shortly after food

Dosage adjustments may be made by a veterinarian
Side effects:
Common side effects include diarrhea, decreased appetite, vomiting, weight loss, lameness, bloody stool, and reduced white blood cell count.
Seek veterinary advice immediately if serious reactions occur.
