Transdermal Mirtazapine 2% is a medication for cats used to manage decreased appetite and unintended weight loss, including cases associated with chronic diseases. It helps stimulate appetite and support weight gain.
Active ingredient: mirtazapine — 20 mg/g (2%).
Dosage form: transdermal ointment, 5 g tube.
Directions for use:
Apply the ointment to the inner surface of the ear, alternating between the left and right ears. The recommended single dose is 0.1 g of ointment (2 mg of mirtazapine). According to the manufacturer's instructions, this corresponds to a strip of ointment approximately 3.8 cm long. The dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by a veterinarian.
Wear disposable gloves when applying the ointment. Avoid contact between the treated area and people or other animals for 2 hours after application.
Important: use as directed by a veterinarian. Use with caution in cats with liver or kidney disease. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to mirtazapine or concomitantly with MAO inhibitors.
