Mavacoxib – a selective COX-2 inhibitor
Indication:
Trocoxil is used for the treatment of chronic pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and other degenerative joint diseases in dogs. It provides long-lasting symptom relief, improving mobility and quality of life.

Administration and Dosage:

For dogs over 12 months of age and weighing more than 5 kg

First dose should be given with or immediately after food

Second dose is administered 14 days after the first

Subsequent doses are given once every 30 days

Maximum course: up to 7 doses (6.5 months)

Recommended dosage: 2 mg of mavacoxib per kg of body weight
Contraindications:

Puppies under 12 months of age

Dogs under 5 kg

Pregnant or lactating females

Liver, kidney, or gastrointestinal disorders

Do not use with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids
Side Effects:
Gastrointestinal disturbances such as vomiting, diarrhea, or decreased appetite may occur. Serious adverse reactions are rare but possible. Consult your veterinarian if any side effects appear.
